June Meeting

Post by Ed Jeffries » Tue Jun 09, 2020 11:53 am

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all keeping safe and well. According to the CCS programme this month there should have been a club photoshoot to Mersea Island. Ideas of interest during the shoot were long exposure images, seascapes, beach huts, etc.

As circumstances prevented us from actually going to the Island, shall we generate some images with those basic themes in mind or shall we do something different? It would be interesting to hear what other members would like to do.

Keep taking photographs everyone!

Ed

Mersea? Well, OK - as seen through a glass, colourfully...

Hi Phil,

I like the colour of the boats standing out from the greyness of the beach - nice technique in isolating them.

Here are some recent images.

Hi Everyone,

A return to sunny warm weather for the weekend, perfect.

Wednesday is scheduled for our next meeting, which clearly cannot take place in it’s conventional form.
So how would members feel about running a 1 hour meeting via a teleconferencing app ?
It would be good to get together, swap notes and just have a chat.
The committee members ran a test session last Wednesday using Microsoft Teams and all went well after a few initial technical issues, which I attribute to a lack of instruction on my behalf.
In this current “Work from home” situation my company and our parent company in Germany, use Microsoft Teams exclusively as it is considered the most secure.
Hopefully everyone is happy to give it a try.

If you think it’s a good a idea and want to join us please let me know and I will send a set of Explanatory notes.
You will need a Microsoft Account and you will need to download Microsoft Teams - Both Easy to do and free of charge.

The plan will be to join the meeting and take it in turns to show 3 images.
The theme for June is images from the Mersea Shoot but as most of us haven’t ventured out, the committee decided to open the theme to any beach/seaside related images and failing that any images members which to share. Keeping the number of images to 3 maximum.

Let me know how you feel about the idea and if you want to have a go at a teleconference meeting.

I have a PDF set notes which I can email out to all those who want to have a go and join us on Wednesday. Please let me know.
Feel free to call me 07872 932619 If you have any questions about Teams or security queries regarding the app. I will also be on hand to help and provide technical assistance where needed.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.

Best wishes and stay safe

Ian
