Adobe Creative Cloud Announcement

Post by JoeCaffery » Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:51 pm

For those of you using PS CC (and maybe LR CC) Adobe has announced that all future releases of CC programs will not support older operating systems. They name these as W8.1, W10 v1511 and W10 v1607 and Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan).
They say all past and present versions of CC will continue to work on these OSs, but they say they are concentrating adding new features (requested by the User community?) into the new CC versions and applications, which will need the newer OSs to run.
This may mean (not sure) that current CC apps may not be updated with new features, will still work on legacy Oss, but no doubt you will still have to keep paying Adobe for what may turn out to be a set of "frozen" CC apps. The other thing to note (and investigate) is that new camera models usually need updates to PS and LR to recognise new file characteristics; you may not get these in the older (frozen?) version of CC which might inhibit you upgrading your camera. I'm sure there will be more of this on the internet shortly, but I thought you guys need to be aware of these developments.
