Further to our discussion at Wednesday's meeting on Photo Affinity, they have a Black Friday deal of £33.99 for the desktop version. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/

Hi, Affinity have their own website (search Serif) and there is a page which takes you to their tutorial page and they are in order from beginner to advanced. I would also recommend the book although it’s on back order because of Christmas demand.
Good luck with it.

I went for it too. At the moment I am assuming it's the same as Photoshop and then Googling when it isn't but I haven't done anything complicated as yet.

Hi Yes Lisa it is has many of the same commands etc and working practices as PS, im still learning, it has all the advantages of the higher end tools provided by photoshop but without the exorbitant price tag.

I can even use photoshop templates which I have for triptychs which is a bonus.

There are a few differences with layout and names etc but you soon get used it.

Thanks Joel. Your link didn't work for me, but I found the Lenscraft site easily anyway.

Watched a bit of the first tutorial - very well done and worth a look.

For any members thinking about trying or purchasing Affinity Photo now could be a good time as they are offering a 3 months free trial or 50% off full price i.e. £23.99.

I agree this is a very generous offer - 3 months' free trial and then get 50% off if you decide to buy. I strongly recommend Affinity Photo. Remember once bought there are no further payments required for future upgrades. Phil
