Just thought I'd share a few shots from last night to inspire those yet to go

. All taken handheld. Settings are f/4 to f/5 and ISO was 2500 to 3200, high but gave me shutter speeds of between 1/3 and 1/10. Oh....and these are straight off camera.
All CC always welcome

Brilliant Jim particularly like the last one but they are all very good. Thanks for sharing the shooting info as I’ll be hand holding when I go in December. Trev

Wicked shots Jim, love them. My favourites would be shot 3 followed by shot 1 and finally shot no.2. There certainly were a lot of photo opportunities and perfect weather to boot. Look forward to seeing some more at the next meeting.

Cheers Richie. Also looking forward to seeing other people's shots. Did look out for you but extremely hard to spot people ...... especially in hats/coats/masks etc.

Great shots Jim.
Can recommend a visit to anyone not yet been. Well organised and perfectly safe.
Tripods not a good idea ! monopods would be better.
Here are 3 of mine - critique appreciated. I cranked the ISO right up, hand held with aperture priority - F8

Hi Ian thanks for sharing. Love these they are all brilliant and you wouldn’t guess you had cranked up the ISO. My favourite is the middle followed by the bottom one then the first. Love the composition of the first one and the colours. Well done looking forward to seeing everyone’s at the December meeting. Trev

Well done Jim and Ian. Jim I like the last of your three, but for me it would be even better if most of the purple reed at the bottom was cropped just leaving a fringe below the range of whole trees, giving (for me) a better balance between strong colours and the more subdued hues of the trees. Ian I agree with Trev - it's the middle one that really works well, striking a good balance of colours and almost monochrome trees. Phil

Jim, that’s a better crop and balances the image a little better.
