Program ideas
I'll kick things off with a couple of theme ideas 1) Churches. I do love a good church and there are some fantastic ones around our county so should be possible for all. 2) On the water. This gives a wide range of possibilities when you think about it. 3) Food. Taking the idea from Phil's 'soup art'...

Cheers Richie. Also looking forward to seeing other people's shots. Did look out for you but extremely hard to spot people ...... especially in hats/coats/masks etc.

Hyde Hall Glow
Just thought I'd share a few shots from last night to inspire those yet to go
. All taken handheld. Settings are f/4 to f/5 and ISO was 2500 to 3200, high but gave me shutter speeds of between 1/3 and 1/10. Oh....and these are straight off camera.

Nice edit Trev. Got to be said though.... geographically impossible to get but nice and it's shows what's capable in the digital world today. We truly can make the impossible possible.

Re: Sunshine and showers, rainbows and howitzers
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. The only thing that could of improved my favourite shot was the fly fisherman who was there but he was in the wrong place (quite inconsiderate I thought....lol)

Sunshine and showers, rainbows and howitzers
A few shots from our week away in the Lake District. My post title comes from a walk we did up Helm Crag out of Grasmere. At the top are two rock formations that people go to see, The Howitzer and The Lion and Lamb Unfortunately the weather was against us this day π§οΈ but off we went anyway. Just bef...

Hi Lisa.
Unfortunately I will have to sit this one out (despite really wanting to go). I'm off to the sunny (or probably not
) Lake District on the 3rd and return the 10th. Have fun though and enjoy.

Re: Ideas for photoshoots
Hi Lisa. Definitely interested in Bures Dragon. I have been (with Ian one evening) and he is mighty impressive but unfortunately St Stephens Chapel was closed at the time. I vowed I must return when its open as it looks very interesting inside. I did comment to Ian that it was Lisa's kind of place π€£...

Re: August Meeting
Here's another remote control telescope site. Only looked briefly but it looks as though you have a lot more control over exposure times, number of exposures etc. It's not free and as yet I'm unsure of what the cost of credits is, might be worth investigating though.

Re: August Meeting
Hi all. Following Nik's highly impressive talk last night I thought I'd look at something he mentioned....remote access to observatories. I found a website that has micro observatories across the U.S that you can access for free. I've put my request in for a 60 second exposure of the milky way (ther...

Re: Astro photography
Hi all. I'd been waiting to hear from my man Danny Kench about his astro photography workshop. Unfortunately the first date he gave me was 14th/15th August which straight away I could not do so he's looking to send more dates over to set it up. What we will all need is an Intervelometer. Apparently ...

Astro photography
Hi all Next month we are (hopefully) due to have a talk about astro photography and looking at the program we are then due to show astro images in November. I have a guy local to myself on Halstead who I've got to know from another club on social media who is thinking of hosting a workshop one night...

Re: Sunset photography trip to Arlesford Church Ruins and Arlesford Creek
Love the black grass shot Phil, great eye
Unfortunately I will not be able to make the shoot (have messaged Richie). It would be a hard push to get to Alresford after being at work and having to come from Halstead. Looking forward to seeing some great shots tho.

Macro
Hi everyone. I am currently doing an online photography course and one of the modules was macro photography. Being a firm favourite of mine I enjoyed reading (and researching a bit more) about lens coupling. Keen to give it a go I purchased a coupling ring and found a willing model (a poor bee that ...
