Re: Macro

Jim - I can't believe how close you got! Amazing photographs.
Phil - I like the composition and the colours. I like the idea of trying focus stacking so might give it a go.

Re: July Meeting

Hi Michelle,
I too apologise for not being a very active member of the forum of late. I'm impressed with your mask making Michele. I can't claim to be doing anything worthy - just busy with web work and now photographing some of the Essex NGS gardens. My time management needs improving much.

Re: Sunset photography trip to Arlesford Church Ruins and Arlesford Creek

Hi Richie,
I am still hoping to come but I've got a bad toothache which is making me tired and grumpy  . I have an appointment with the dentist tomorrow afternoon thank goodness. If I feel ok after that, I'll be there.

PS Ed's sunset photo is making me keen to go!

Re: New website

Hi Colin, Yes it's very odd. I saw this happening to other portfolio pages before the site went live. I've corrected it by linking to the same image again in exactly the same way and this time they show. I then went through everyone's page this morning to check and a few had gone wrong again. If it ...

Re: Covid-19 garden play

Hi Phil, Yes I like it too. It was a miserable grey day but you have made it look bright and sunny and the birds' feathers are much improved. This little blackbird family have been in my front garden all week. I think they nested in a conifer in my neighbour's front garden. There is the mum and dad ...

New website

I have nearly finished creating the new website for CS. It will look very similar to the current one but 'underneath the bonnet' it will be very different. It will be a WordPress.com website which means it can be maintained by anyone - you don't have to know any web coding. Eventually I hope to move...

Re: Covid-19 garden play

Gosh you lot have been very busy with your cameras. Mark's photos made me long for my holiday up north in August but no idea whether we'll be able to go or not but I must thank my lucky stars that I have a garden and live in a village where I can easily get out into the countryside. I've been busy b...

Re: April Meeting

That redwood is impressive, but fairy door? Do you mean the thing that looks like an abandoned loo seat? It's a cedar of Lebanon and yes, I mean the little door at the bottom. It is embossed and the shadows are making it look horseshoe shaped (abandoned loo seat :o ). Loved the rainbow shots. :P .

Re: Covid-19 garden play

You've both been super creative ! I'm inspired to do some bird photography. I've only got a 200mm zoom but I think if I sit still and patiently so they come close then I might be alright with a little cropping.

Disk space

If you have posted something on the forum yesterday and it is no longer there it may be because we ran out of disk space. I have deleted lots of old files - hoping that will get it working again. I didn't want to pay for more disk space when I am hoping to move to WordPress.com soon. You will have t...
